SKILLS FOR PERFORMANCE: An Employer Training Pilot for Greater Nottingham

This project has been designed for Greater Nottingham incorporating all the key success elements from the national Employer Training Pilots.

The project is focused on increasing the skill levels of employee’s working within small and medium sized enterprises. It will provide employer’s with a free training needs analysis identifying the basic and vocational skill needs of its workforce. A range of training that best fits the employer and employee needs (often delivered on site) will be identified and provided free / or subsidised; a wage compensation to cover employee’s time away from their workspace is also available. Where suitable training is not available specially tailored packages will be developed to meet employer needs.

Outcomes

  • 430 employees will receive information, advice and guidance
  • 430 employees will receive training up to level 2 (equivalent to 5 GCSE’s)
  • Over 200 employers will be engaged with the project

The project is funded through ESF Co-financing and Single Programme funds until May 2007.
