The GNP Board consists of fifteen directors drawn from across the public, private, local authority and voluntary and community sectors. This includes four business sector representatives; four public sector representatives; four voluntary and community sector representatives; two local authority sector representatives; and an independent chair appointed by the business community.

The GNP Board meets on a six-weekly basis to direct strategy; ensure compliance with the values and objectives of GNP; develop plans and policies; approve the GNP's budget and accounts; and monitor its overall performance.

In addition to the fifiteen directors, observers are also invited to attend GNP Board meetings to report back to their respective organisations on current developments. Present observers to the GNP Board include representatives from Government Office East Midlands, the East Midlands Development Agency, the Nottinghamshire Fire Service and the local District Councils.
