Accelerate Nottingham was established to promote the benefits of ICT to the citizens of Greater Nottingham. Its remit is to act as the major catalyst for change in leading, shaping and transforming ICT usage within the Greater Nottingham conurbation and the County; supporting future workforce, business, education and community developments.
 
The Alliance SSP is the sub-regional strategic partnership for north Nottinghamshire and north Derbyshire.
 
Arts Council England is the national development agency for the arts.
 
Ashfield District Council was formed in 1974 and comprises the former urban districts of Hucknall, Kirkby-in-Ashfield and Sutton-in-Ashfield, together with the parishes of Annesley, Felley and Selston.
 
Attenborough Nature Centre is an award winning eco-friendly visitor attraction located within the tranquil surroundings of Attenborough Nature Reserve to the south of Nottingham.

The BEST Network aims to help East Midlands businesses improve their resource efficiency, while at the same time enhancing the region's environment.
 
The Big Wheel is a partnership representing local authorities and companies from across Nottingham and aims to help implement the recommendations of the Greater Nottingham Local Transport Plan.
 
Broadway is the East Midlands flagship cinema and media centre with an established national and international reputation for film exhibition, production and festivals.
 
Broxtowe Borough Council was formed on 1 April, 1974, following the amalgamation of the former Beeston and Stapleford Urban District council, part of the Basford Rural District Council and Eastwood Urban District Council.
 
The purpose of the Partnership Trust is to promote and facilitate the social and economic regeneration of the Broxtowe Estate through multi-agency partnership working.

The Carbon Trust is an independent company funded through government. Its role is to help the UK move to a low carbon economy by helping business and the public sector reduce carbon emissions whilst also capturing the commercial opportunities of low carbon technologies.
 
Castle College was formed on 1 June 2006 following the merger of Broxtowe College and the People's College and aims to offer bigger and better services for its students.
 
The Commission for Rural Communities was established in April 2005 to provide well-informed and independent advice to government to ensure that its policies reflect the needs of people living and working in rural England, with a particular focus on tackling disadvantage.
 
Connected Nottingham is an overarching campaign led by Accelerate Nottingham that is aiming to develop Nottingham into the UK's first truely connected city.
 
Connexions is the Government's new advice and guidance service for all 13 to 19 year olds. Connexions Nottinghamshire is a company owned by Nottinghamshire Learning & Skills Council, Nottinghamshire County Council and Nottingham City Council.
 
The Country Land and Business Association aims to be the premier organisation dedicated to safeguarding the interests of those responsible for land, property and business throughout rural England and Wales.
 
Culture East Midlands is one of eight regional cultural consortia that were set
up in 1999 by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport to champion the
whole spectrum of cultural and creative interest within their respective regions. Culture East Midlands covers the six counties of Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire and Rutland.

The Department for Communities and Local Government was created on 5 May 2006 with a powerful remit to promote community cohesion and equality, as well as responsibility for housing, urban regeneration, planning and local government.
 
The Department for Culture, Media and Sport is responsible for Government policy on the arts, sport, the National Lottery, tourism, libraries, museums and galleries, broadcasting, film, the music industry, press freedom and regulation, licensing, gambling and the historic environment.
 
The Department for Education and Skills was established with the purpose of creating opportunity, releasing potential and achieving excellence for all.
 
The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs works for the essentials of life - food, air, land, water, people, animals and plants. Its remit is the pursuit of sustainable development - weaving together economic, social and environmental concerns.
 
The Department of Trade and Industry works to create the best environment for business success within the UK. It helps people and companies to become more productive by promoting enterprise, innovation and creativity.
 
The Department for Transport's objective is to oversee the delivery of a reliable, safe and secure transport system that responds efficiently to the needs of individuals and business whilst also safeguarding the environment.
 
The aim of the Department of Health is to improve the health and wellbeing of people in England.
 
The Derby and Derbyshire Economic Partnership is the sub-regional strategic partnership for the City of Derby and the borough and district councils of Amber Valley, Derbyshire Dales, Erewash, High Peak and South Derbyshire.

EMBREN is a newly network funded by emda to coordinate the provision of environmental business support within the East Midlands. EMBREN provides a single gateway for business and support organisations to access environmental information, support and advice.
 
The East Midlands Development Agency is one of nine Regional Development Agencies in England set up in 1999 to bring a regional focus to economic development.
 
EMMLAC is one of nine Regional Agencies in the English regions. With core funding from the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council (MLA), EMMLAC provides strategic leadership for museums, libraries and archives in the East Midlands to enable them to provide a better service to the public. Its aim is to ensure that museums, libraries and archives play a full role in the social, educational, cultural and economic life of the East Midlands.
 
The East Midlands Regional Assembly is one of eight established in England outside of London. EMRA is responsible for scrutinisng the development and delivery by the region's economic development agency of a successful economic strategy for the East Midlands.
 
The East Midlands Rural Affairs Forum is the champion for the Rural East Midlands within the region. EMRAF aims to be the driver of the rural agenda in the East Midlands and the regional hub for information on rural issues.
 
NHS East Midlands, the new Strategic Health Authority for the whole of the East Midlands, was established on 1 July 2006 to replace the former Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Rutland, and Trent Strategic Health Authorities. NHS East Midlands provides strategic leadership to NHS organisations in the counties of Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire and Rutland, serving a combined population of 4.3 million.
 
East Midlands Tourism was established in 2004 and acts as the region's tourism development body, covering the counties of Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire and Rutland.
 
EM Media is the Regional Screen Agency for the East Midlands, one of nine agencies across the UK. Since 2001 EM Media has supported the region's film, television and interactive media (games, digital media and new media) through talent development, investment and business support.
 
Enable is the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Voluntary and Community Sector Learning and Skills Consortium. It was established to enable voluntary organisations and community groups to effectively engage in the development and delivery of the local learning and skills agenda.
 
EnterpriseLoans East Midlands provides loans both to existing entrepreneurs and to people starting up a business. Loans range from £3,000 - £20,000, to be repaid over a period between 1 and 5 years. Interest is calculated at 5% above base rate (minimum 10.5%), fixed at the time the loan is approved and for the period the loan is repaid. The fund is available throughout the East Midlands.
 
The Environment Agency employs over 10,000 people and works in diverse areas such as flood defence, pollution control, town planning, farming and waste.
 
Experience Nottinghamshire aims to raise the profile of Nottinghamshire and promote it as a great place to visit, for either leisure or business.

The Federation of Small Businesses is the largest campaigning pressure group promoting and protecting the interests of the self-employed and owners of small firms. Formed in 1974, it now has over 200,000+ members across 33 regions and 230 branches.
 
First Enterprise Business Agency (FEBA) was established in 1989 to meet the challenges faced by the ethic minority community. The agency was established following an expressed need from the local community for an agency that would bridge the gap of accessibility of support and provide a confidential and culturally sensitive business support service.
 
The Food Initiatives Group is a local food partnership and covers the whole of the Greater Nottingham sub-region – Broxtowe and Hucknall, Rushcliffe, Gedling and Nottingham City. FIG aims to encourage organisations and individuals to produce and eat healthy, safe and affordable food from sustainable sources, including locally grown and organic food.
 
The Forestry Commission is the government department responsible for forestry policy throughout Great Britain. Its mission is to protect and expand Britain's forests and woodlands and increase their value to society and the environment.
 
Forum for the Future is recognised as the UK’s leading sustainable development charity. Its objective is to promote sustainable development and to educate different groups in sustainable development, in order to accelerate the building of a sustainable way of life, taking a positive solutions-oriented approach.

The Galleries of Justice is an award-winning museum and educational charity. Located in Nottingham's Lace Market, its buildings were formerly used as the city's court and prison from the 1780s to the 1980s.
 
GameCity is a unique and pioneering festival of videogames and interactive entertainment that was first held in Nottingham in October 2006.
 
Established in 1974, the Borough of Gedling is home to almost 112,000 people and covers an area of 46.3 sq. miles. Set in the rolling Nottinghamshire countryside, it includes the towns of Arnold and Carlton and the surrounding parishes.  
 
The Government Office for the East Midlands brings together the regional activities of its sponsor central government departments. GOEM aims to work with regional partners and local people to maximise competitiveness and prosperity in the East Midlands, and to support integrated government policies for an inclusive society.
 
The Greater Nottingham Learning Partnership aims to encourage individuals, employers and organisations within the Greater Nottingham area to involve themselves in learning.
 
 
The Greater Nottingham Transport Partnership runs The Big Wheel, representing councils and companies across the conurbation. GNTP supports the Local Transport Plan, jointly prepared by Nottingham City Council and Nottinghamshire County Council, and also advises on practical and strategic transport issues.
 
Greenwood is Nottinghamshire's Community Forest, and through partnership working, is aiming to transform the local landscape into a greener and healthier place.
 
Groundwork Greater Nottingham is committed to improving the quality of life across Greater Nottingham. Groundwork works in partnership with a range of groups and organisations in order to stimulate environmental, social and economic well-being through local action.

The Learning and Skills Council exists to improve the skills of young people and adults, with the aim of creating a world-class workforce within England. The LSC is responsible for planning and funding a range of high-quality vocational education and training.
 
The Leicester Shire Economic Partnership is the sub-regional strategic partnership for Leicester and Leicestershire.
 
Lincolnshire Enterprise is the sub-regional strategic partnership for Lincolnshire.

MTC is Nottingham's partnership programme which aims to support local people into local jobs. It is focussed on working with our disadvantaged groups as well as with employers, and offers a full range of training and development opportunities for working in the city's priority sectors.

Natural England brings together English Nature, the Countryside Agency and the Rural Development Service into one body. Its aim is to conserve and enhance the natural environment for its intrinsic value, the wellbeing and enjoyment of people and the economic prosperity that it brings.
 
NAVO is an independent voluntary organisation working to enhance voluntary and statutory partnerships within Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. It supports and empowers other voluntary organsiations through the provision of information, partnership working and the sharing of good practice.
 
The New Art Exchange in Hyson Green, Nottingham, due to open in summer 2008, will be the UK's only gallery outside London dedicated to black and Asian artists.  Housing public galleries, workshop space, rehearsal rooms and offices, as well as a cafe and shop, it is hoped the centre will become the UK's "very best" for multicultural arts.
 
New College Nottingham is one of the largest colleges of further education within the UK, offering a wide range of full and part-time study programmes.
 
Northamptonshire Enterprise Limited is the sub-regional strategic partnership for Northamptonshire.
 
The Nottingham Science City website has been designed to explain what being a Science City will mean and to spread the word about Nottingham’s scientific excellence and achievements - from the invention of HP Sauce to ground-breaking cancer research.
 
 
Nottingham City Council is the local authority for the City of Nottingham.
 
When it opens in 2009 Nottingham Contemporary will be one of the largest contemporary arts centres in the UK. Situated at Weekday Cross, it will have a total floor area of 3,000 sq metres, with four large galleries, education rooms, a study and resource centre, a café-bar and a shop. Rising two storeys in the middle of the building, there will also be a striking performance space.
 
Nottingham Development Enterprise was established in 1987 by the local business community and City and County Councils. A unique not-for-profit organisation, it acts as a catalyst by promoting new ideas to tackle challenges facing Nottingham.
 
 
Nottingham Regeneration Limited is a pioneering public private sector partnership, established in 1998 to tackle physical regeneration in Nottingham.
 
Nottingham Trent is one of the UK's leading universities for graduate employment. NTU attracts students from across the globe and has a total student population of around 26,000, made up of approximately 21,000 undergraduates and 5,000 postgraduates.
 
Nottingham University Hopitals Trust was established in 2006 following the merger of the two Nottingham hospitals, Nottingham City Hospital and the Queen's Medical Centre.
 
Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce and Industry aims to maintain its position as the leading independent business representative and support organisation in the county of Nottinghamshire, promoting the interests of member businesses and contributing in partnership with others to a prosperous regional economy.
 
Nottinghamshire County Council is the local authority for the county of Nottinghamshire.
 
Nottinghamshire County Teaching Primary Care Trust came into existance on 1 October 2006 following the merger of the six former Nottinghamshire primary care trusts - Ashfield, Broxtowe and Hucknall, Gedling, Mansfield District, Newark and Sherwood, and Rushcliffe. The PCT is responsible for all community NHS services, such as district and school nursing, health visiting, GPs, dentistry, opticians, and pharmacy.
 
The main objective of the Nottinghamshire Research Observatory is to bring together local information and research on economic and social issues that inform policies relating to the development and regeneration of Nottinghamshire.
 
The Nottinghamshire Rural Community Council aims to improve the quality of life for all sections of the rural community, and ensure that no individual is excluded from the benefits of that work by reason of difference or disadvantage.
 
Nottinghamshire Training Network is a 'not for profit' organisation that has evolved to support Nottinghamshire's work based learning and work force development provider network.
 
Nottinghamshire Wheels to Work was launched in March 2002, and offers the loan of a moped to young people or the long term unemployed to get over the initial problem of getting to work, training or education.
 
The mission of the Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust is to conserve and enhance the county’s wildlife and its habitats, both urban and rural, for future generations. It provide resources for local residents and organisations to best understand and enjoy their natural heritage, and to takes action to help preserve it.

One Nottingham is the Local Strategic Partnership for the City of Nottingham.
 
The OnTrent Initiative is a partnership project involving a wide range of public, voluntary and commercial organisations. The project is working to secure a sustainable balance between the natural and historic heritage, agriculture, commercial activity and development along the River Trent.

The Prince's Trust is a UK charity that helps young people overcome barriers through practical support, including training, mentoring and financial assistance. Remploy is the leading provider of jobs for disabled people and can assist them in accessing places in mainstream employment.
 
The borough of Rushcliffe lies immediately south of the City of Nottingham and the River Trent and extends across towards Newark in the North East and Loughborough in the South West.

South Nottingham College is the largest education provider south of the River Trent, offering a comprehensive range of further and higher education courses and training opportunities for business and industry.
 
Sport England is an organisation committed to creating opportunities for people to start in sport, stay in sport and succeed in sport. It provides the strategic lead for sport in England and is responsible for delivering the government's sporting objectives.

tanc is a community-led regeneration charity working in Nottinghamshire to support community groups, voluntary organisations and social enterprises to research and develop their regeneration projects. They are based in the Chase Neighbourhood Centre in St. Ann's in Nottingham and were set up 12 years ago.
