Culture East Midlands is one of eight regional cultural consortia that were set up in 1999 by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport to champion the whole spectrum of cultural and creative interest within their respective regions.
 
The Department for Culture, Media and Sport is responsible for government policy on the arts, sport, the National Lottery, tourism, libraries, museums and galleries, broadcasting, film, the music industry, press freedom and regulation, licensing, gambling and the historic environment.
 
EMMLAC is one of nine Regional Agencies in the English regions. With core funding from the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council (MLA), EMMLAC provides strategic leadership for museums, libraries and archives in the East Midlands to enable them to provide a better service to the public. Its aim is to ensure that museums, libraries and archives play a full role in the social, educational, cultural and economic life of the East Midlands.
 
Together, East Midlands museums will take a leading part in protecting the region's inheritance for the benefit of present generations, and as a continuing legacy for the future.
 
East Midlands Tourism was established in 2004 and acts as the region's tourism development body, covering the counties of Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire and Rutland.
 
EM Media is the Regional Screen Agency for the East Midlands, one of nine agencies across the UK. Since 2001 EM Media has supported the region's film, television and interactive media (games, digital media and new media) through talent development, investment and business support.
 
English Heritage is the government's statutory adviser on the historic environment. It aims to protect and promote England's historic environment and ensure that the past is researched and understood.
 
Experience Nottinghamshire is the Destination Management Partnership for Nottinghamshire, responsible for tourism promotion. Their Destination Management System provides information on current events, attractions, accommodation, tourism packages within the county.
 
The Galleries of Justice is an award-winning museum and educational charity. Located in Nottingham's Lace Market, its buildings were formerly used as the city's court and prison from the 1780s to the 1980s.
 
GameCity is a unique and pioneering festival of videogames and interactive entertainment that was first held in Nottingham in October 2006.

nottdance is an annual festival of national and international dance, showcasing some of the most influential performance makers of today as they examine perception of dance by presenting work that is thought provoking, playful, irreverent and joyous.

The Nottingham Arts and Creative Industries Forum brings together representation from a range of arts and creative industries practitioners with the common aim of promoting and supporting arts and creative industries development and provision in Nottingham.
 
The City Council's Leisure and Community Services Department offers a wide variety of attractions, activities and services aimed at making Nottingham a better place to live and work in or enjoy visiting.
