Culture East Midlands
Culture East Midlands is one of eight regional cultural consortia that were set up in 1999 by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport to champion the whole spectrum of cultural and creative interest within their respective regions.

Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS)
The Department for Culture, Media and Sport is responsible for government policy on the arts, sport, the National Lottery, tourism, libraries, museums and galleries, broadcasting, film, the music industry, press freedom and regulation, licensing, gambling and the historic environment.

East Midlands Museums, Libraries and Archives Council
EMMLAC is one of nine Regional Agencies in the English regions. With core funding from the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council (MLA), EMMLAC provides strategic leadership for museums, libraries and archives in the East Midlands to enable them to provide a better service to the public. Its aim is to ensure that museums, libraries and archives play a full role in the social, educational, cultural and economic life of the East Midlands.

East Midlands Museum Service

East Midlands Tourism
East Midlands Tourism was established in 2004 and acts as the region’s tourism development body, covering the counties of Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire and Rutland.

EM Media
EM Media is the Regional Screen Agency for the East Midlands, one of nine agencies across the UK. Since 2001 EM Media has supported the region’s film, television and interactive media (games, digital media and new media) through talent development, investment and business support.

English Heritage
English Heritage is the government’s statutory adviser on the historic environment. It aims to protect and promote England’s historic environment and ensure that the past is researched and understood.

Experience Nottinghamshire
Experience Nottinghamshire is the Destination Management Partnership for Nottinghamshire, responsible for tourism promotion. Their Destination Management System provides information on current events, attractions, accommodation, tourism packages within the county.

Galleries of Justice
The Galleries of Justice is an award-winning museum and educational charity. Located in Nottingham’s Lace Market, its buildings were formerly used as the city’s court and prison from the 1780s to the 1980s.

GameCity
GameCity is a unique and pioneering festival of videogames and interactive entertainment that was first held in Nottingham in October 2006.

Government Office for the East Midlands – Culture and Leisure
Government Office promotes the work of the Department for Culture Media and Sport and its sponsored bodies within the East Midlands.

Lakeside Arts Centre
Lakeside is the University of Nottingham’s unique public arts centre, presenting an eclectic programme of music, dance, theatre, visual art and family events.

National Ice Centre and Nottingham Arena
The National Ice Centre is the official home of British Ice Sports and the coolest entertainment and sporting venue in the East Midlands.

National Trust
The National Trust is an independant charity that protects and opens to the public over 300 historic houses and gardens and 49 industrial monuments and mills.

New Art Exchange
In September 2003 the New Art Exchange was formed as a new organisation to steer and manage the development of Nottingham’s first dedicated cultural facility for Black contemporary arts. The NAE’s vision is to deliver an innovative and exciting programme of contemporary multi-cultural arts development in visual and performing arts.

nottdance
nottdance is an annual festival of national and international dance, showcasing some of the most influential performance makers of today as they examine perception of dance by presenting work that is thought provoking, playful, irreverent and joyous.

Nottingham Artists Studio Groups
Providing information on all of the artists’ studios and studio groups in the Nottingham area, the artists working in them, and forthcoming exhibitions and events.  Includes online galleries, events listings and Nottingham arts news.

Nottingham Arts and Creative Industries Forum
The Nottingham Arts and Creative Industries Forum brings together representation from a range of arts and creative industries practitioners with the common aim of promoting and supporting arts and creative industries development and provision in Nottingham.

Nottingham City Council – Leisure and Community Services
The City Council’s Leisure and Community Services Department offers a wide variety of attractions, activities and services aimed at making Nottingham a better place to live and work in or enjoy visiting.

Nottingham Contemporary
Due to open in the autumn of 2009, Nottingham Contempoary will be one of the largest contemporary arts venues in the UK. Once completed, the new building on Weekday Cross will have a floor area of 3,000sq metres with four large galleries, a striking performance space, education rooms, a study and resource centre, a café-bar and shop.

Nottingham Playhouse
Nottingham Playhouse makes bold and thrilling theatre. It is world-class, made in Nottingham and as diverse as our community.

Nottinghamshire County Council – Leisure
Nottinghamshire County Council’s leisure and arts section offers information about leisure services within the county.

NOW Festival
The NOW Festical develops opportunities to learn from encountering creativity and innovation skills. NOW is a service of Nottingham City Council, funded by Arts Council England East Midlands.
