Project Application Process
The Greater Nottingham Partnership's project application process is composed of two main elements: outline and then full application. In order to receive funding, a project must firstly be endorsed by the relevant Strategy Action Team, pass technical appraisal and then receive final approval from the GNP Board before a funding contract is issued. The seven stages of the GNP application process are as follows: 1. Outline To initiate an application for funding, applicants should complete a project outline form summarising their proposals and then submit this electronically to the GNP for consideration by the relevant Strategy Action Team. 2. Initial Assessment Following the receipt of a project outline, this is assessed by a GNP Strategic Partnership Manager to ensure that all necessary information has been included and is also fowarded to an emda Strategic Development Manager for them to assess its strategic fit against the aims and objectives outlined within the Regional Economic Strategy. 3. Strategy Action Team Endorsement Once completed, the project outline is tabled before the relevant Strategy Action Team for consideration. A SAT can endorse, reject or propose further amendments to a project before giving their support. 4. Full Application When a project outline has been endorsed by the relevant Strategy Action Team, applicants are then invited to prepare and submit a full application for funding, outlining their proposals in more detail. 5. Technical Appraisal Following the reciept of a full application form, this is forwarded to the emda Shared Resource Centre for technical appraisal. The aim of the appraisal process is to assess a project's procurement; aims and objectives; need and demand; alternative delivery options; economic outputs and outcomes; value for money; State Aid implications; potential risks and delivery arrangements; and forward strategy. 6. GNP Board Approval Once a project has passed technical appraisal it is then tabled before the GNP Board for final approval. The Board may approve, reject or request further amendments to a project before giving their final consent. 7. Contract When the GNP Board has given its final approval for a project, a funding contract is then prepared and issued to the applicant. This must be signed and returned to the GNP before any funding for the project is released. It should be noted that the GNP has no moral or legal commitment to support projects until a funding contract has been issued and is then signed and returned by the applicant. This is only done once a project has successfully completed the technical appraisal process and has received final approval from the GNP Board. |
